Description:

Citrus limon, commonly known as Nimbuka, is a sprawling shrub or small tree that reaches heights of 3 to 4 meters. It features numerous angular branches adorned with sharp spines located in the leaf axils. The leaves are acute, arranged alternately, and possess a shiny, evergreen appearance. The flowers are small, typically white, and tend to appear solitary or in pairs, found in the axils. This plant produces yellow, rounded berries that have nipple-shaped edges. Notably, it flowers and bears fruit nearly all year round. In Ayurvedic terminology, it is referred to as Jambir kul.

Benefits:

Lime (Citrus aurantiifolia) is used in Ayurveda for its refreshing, digestive, and detoxifying effects. It is rich in vitamin C and supports immunity, appetite, and skin health. Lime balances Kapha and aids in clearing Ama (toxins), especially when used in warm water or herbal decoctions.
