Papaya, referred to as “Erandakarkati” in Ayurveda, is a low-calorie, juicy fruit abundant in vitamins C and A. Both the fruit and other components of the plant, including seeds, are edible and recognized for their medicinal benefits.

This fruit is advantageous for the skin due to its antioxidant properties. Antioxidants like vitamin C help alleviate inflammation and combat various illnesses by bolstering the immune system. Applying papaya pulp as a facial mask can aid in diminishing pigmentation, acne, and wrinkles.

In Ayurveda, papaya leaf juice is noted for its ability to hinder the dengue virus’s growth and boost platelet levels. Regular consumption of papaya enhances digestion and alleviates issues like constipation and hyperacidity, thanks to its laxative effects.
