Description:

Rusa grass, also known as Rohisha, is scientifically referred to as Cymbopogon martini. This herb is recognized for its effectiveness in treating joint pain, respiratory issues, anorexia, worm infestations, skin inflammation, and various gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea. It thrives in the upper Himalayas at elevations around 2,000 meters, with its flowers blooming from September to November.

Cymbopogon martini contains compounds like geraniol, linalool, and geranyl acetate, which contribute to its medicinal properties. In traditional medicine, this herb is used to balance the Vata and Kapha doshas, and its paste is applied to alleviate the Rakta dosha, aiding in blood purification.

The herb has a range of applications, including treatments for rheumatoid arthritis, hair loss, joint pain, spasmodic pains, and fungal infections. It is a small herb that flourishes in the temperate climate of the Himalayas and has two varieties: Motiya and Sofia. While both varieties share similar vegetational characteristics, they differ in their growing patterns; the Motiya variety is typically found in isolated patches, while the Sofia variety grows in clusters. Motiya is known for its high geraniol content and is commonly associated with Palmarosa oil, whereas the Sofia variety contains less geraniol and is referred to as Ginger Grass Oil.

Benefits:

This herb is helpful in maintaining all the three doshas but its proven results are found in Vataj-pittaj vikaras.
It has its wonderful effect in visarpa roga and other skin diseases.
When it is used internally it is effective in purification of blood, and is used in Blood related disorders.
Decoction of its roots are used for enhancing the milk production in females.
This is also helpful in enhancing the sperm production in males.
This is also used as diuretic to combat the inflammation in the urinary bladder and is used where the patients are concerned with dysuria.
It also improves the strength of cardiac muscles.
Cold infusion of this herb is used to treat fever, anorexia and nausea related diseases.
Its wonderful results are occured with its oil extraction that is mixed with hot water, and is also used for steam inhalation in asthmatic and cold conditions.
It also gives good results in scabies and in discoloration of the skin.
Oil of Rohisha herb is used to treat the pain of rheumatoid arthritis, or alopecia to initiate the hair growth.

Agiya Ghas is used to treat digestive and respiratory conditions. It helps in improving digestion, reducing bloating, and managing cough and asthma. It is also beneficial for detoxifying the body and improving immunity.

Medical Conditions(Avoid):

Agiya Ghas should be avoided in individuals with allergies to the plant or with a history of severe digestive conditions. It should not be used during pregnancy without professional guidance.
