Description:

Bellis perennis, belonging to the Asteraceae family, is the most prevalent species within the daisy genus. While several plants share the daisy name, this particular species stands out for its popularity and medicinal benefits. To distinguish it from others, it is commonly referred to as the Common daisy, English daisy, or Lawn daisy. Due to its therapeutic properties, it is also known as woundwort and bruisewort. Bellis perennis is utilized in various alternative medicine systems to treat injuries and their adverse effects. This plant is native to Northern, Western, and Central Europe, but it is also extensively cultivated in many temperate regions, including parts of America and Australia. As a perennial herbaceous plant, it features small, rounded rosettes and short creeping rhizomes, with leaves measuring 2-5 cm in length that grow flat against the ground. The Common daisy is often regarded as an invasive weed, particularly in lawns, where it proliferates and becomes difficult to eradicate.
