Description:

Nirgundi, also known as Vitex negundo, is a shrub or small tree found in the tropical and subtropical regions of India and Southeast Asia. The plant grows up to 3–5 meters tall, with opposite leaves that are deeply divided and produce small, purple flowers. Nirgundi is well known for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant properties. It is used to treat joint pain, arthritis, and muscle soreness due to its pain-relieving effects. Nirgundi is also beneficial in treating respiratory conditions, such as asthma, bronchitis, and cough, due to its expectorant properties. The herb has antibacterial and antifungal effects, making it useful in treating skin infections and wounds. Nirgundi helps balance Vata and Kapha doshas, promoting digestive health, respiratory health, and overall well-being.

Benefits:

Gingelly, or sesame (Sesamum indicum), offers several key therapeutic benefits: it acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, alleviating arthritis pain; it supports heart health and helps lower blood pressure due to its magnesium content; and its calcium helps prevent bone disorders like osteoporosis. Additionally, it is rich in copper, magnesium, calcium, and zinc, enhancing its health benefits.

Medical Conditions(Relief):

Til (sesame) is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron. It helps improve bone health by enhancing calcium absorption and supporting overall bone strength. Sesame seeds are beneficial for cardiovascular health by regulating cholesterol and blood pressure. They are high in antioxidants that help reduce oxidative stress and prevent chronic diseases, including heart disease and cancer. Til also supports skin health by nourishing and hydrating the skin, reducing wrinkles, and preventing premature aging. Additionally, sesame seeds promote digestion by improving bowel regularity and alleviating constipation.

Medical Conditions(Avoid):
