Dronapushpi (Leucas cephalotes) is an annual, upright plant that typically reaches heights of 15 to 60 cm. Its leaves are narrow and ovate, exhibiting a yellowish-green hue, measuring approximately 3 to 9 cm in length and 1 to 2.5 cm in width, with a pungent flavor. The roots are smooth, cylindrical, and zigzagged, featuring various fine rootlets of differing sizes, and possess a fibrous texture. The stem is quadrangular with a rough, hairy surface and a light greenish-yellow color, offering a slightly bitter taste. The flowers are small, white, and sessile, arranged in dense axillary whorls. The fruit is a schizocarpic carcerule, with smooth, brown nutlets measuring about 3 mm.
