Description:

Kshavak, commonly referred to as Sneeze wort in English, is a notable herb in India, known by various names such as Kshavak, chikkani, teekshna, and ghrandukhda in Sanskrit. In Hindi, it is called nakchikkani, while in Bengali, it’s known as Mecheta, and in Malayalam, it is referred to as naakshinkani, among others. Its scientific classification identifies it as Centipeda minima, part of the Asteraceae family. This herb is recognized for its medicinal properties, particularly in treating Nasa gat vikaras, which are conditions associated with Kapha prokapaka diseases. Kshavak is commonly found throughout India and extends to Sri Lanka, thriving in wet or deciduous environments.

Benefits:

Kshavak (Cleome viscosa), also known as wild mustard, is used in Ayurveda for its digestive, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It is beneficial in treating colic, indigestion, and skin infections. The seeds and leaves support respiratory health and balance Vata and Kapha doshas.

Kshavak is used to treat respiratory conditions such as asthma and bronchitis. It also supports digestion and helps in detoxifying the body.
