Sanskrit Name: Amritarishta

Devanagari Name: अमृतारिष्ट

English Name: Amritarishta

Description:

Amritarishta, also referred to as Amrutharishtam or Amritarishtam, is a herbal Ayurvedic liquid formulation recommended for various types of fevers. It acts as an antioxidant and assists in alleviating fever, cough, and cold symptoms.

The primary component of Amritarishta is Tinospora Cordifolia, known as ‘Guguchi’ or Giloy’, which contributes antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects, aiding in the treatment of several health issues. Additionally, it contains Dashmool, a blend of ten herbs that enhances the overall therapeutic properties.

In Ayurveda, Amritarishta is recognized for its Javarghana (antipyretic) effect, which helps lower fever. Moreover, its Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) qualities indirectly aid in fever management by promoting the digestion of Ama (toxic substances resulting from improper digestion). These digestive benefits also assist in addressing appetite loss, thirst, bloating, and flatulence. Furthermore, Amritarishta possesses Rasayana (rejuvenating) properties that bolster immunity and support longevity.

Amritarishta is offered in liquid or syrup form. The recommended dosage is 15-20ml, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional, to relieve fever. It is advisable to mix it with an equal amount of lukewarm water to lessen its taste. It can be taken once or twice daily, preferably post meals.

Generally, Amritarishta is well tolerated and does not produce side effects when consumed at the suggested dosage. However, consulting a doctor before using Amritarishta is recommended.
