Sanskrit Name:Avalgujādī

Devanagari Name:अवल्गुजादी

English Name: Avalgujadi

Description:

Avalgujadi Lepa is a traditional Ayurvedic formulation primarily used for skin disorders, especially leucoderma (vitiligo). It is known for its ability to stimulate melanin production and restore natural skin pigmentation. This lepa is prepared using potent herbs and minerals that have been traditionally recognized for their therapeutic effects on the skin. The key ingredients include Avalguja Beeja (Psoralea corylifolia seeds), which are known for their pigmentation-enhancing properties, Haratala (Purified Orpiment – Arsenic trisulfide), which has been traditionally used for various skin conditions, and Gomutra (Cow urine), which acts as a medium and has antiseptic and healing properties. These ingredients are finely powdered and mixed with cow urine to form a smooth paste, which is then stored in an airtight container to retain its potency.

Avalgujadi Lepa is mainly applied externally for leucoderma, where it helps in restoring skin color by promoting melanin synthesis. It is also beneficial for other skin disorders, including fungal infections and chronic wounds, due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. The application involves spreading a thin layer of the paste on the affected area and leaving it on for about 30 minutes before washing it off. The usage should be done under medical supervision, as Haratala is a potent ingredient that requires careful handling. Pregnant and lactating women, as well as individuals with pre-existing health conditions, should consult a healthcare provider before using this formulation. Overall, Avalgujadi Lepa is a time-tested Ayurvedic remedy that utilizes the power of herbal and mineral components to support skin health and aid in the management of depigmentation conditions.
