Description:

Larrea tridentata, commonly known as creosote bush or greasewood, is a group of closely related wild shrubs. It is also referred to as chaparral in medicinal contexts and as gobernadora in Mexico. This evergreen shrub typically grows between 1 to 3 meters in height, with rare instances of reaching up to 4 meters (13 feet). Its stems feature sticky, dark green leaves composed of two lanceolate leaflets that are connected at the base, with a deciduous tip between them. Each leaflet measures between 7 to 18 mm in length and 4 to 8.5 mm in width. The flowers of the plant have five yellow petals and can reach up to 25 mm in diameter. The entire plant emits a distinctive creosote odor, reminiscent of rain, which contributes to its common name, creosote bush.
