Description:

Fenugreek is a remarkable herb utilized for both medicinal purposes and as a spice in numerous culinary traditions. In India, it is widely recognized as “Methi.” Its scientific name is Trigonella foenum-graecum. Both the seeds and leaves of this herb offer significant health benefits. Fenugreek is predominantly grown in South and Central Asia.

Benefits:

Gandha Prasārinī (Paederia foetida) is an important herb used in treating musculoskeletal disorders and neurological conditions. Known for its deep-penetrating and warming qualities, it alleviates Vata-related pain and stiffness, especially in conditions like arthritis and sciatica. It promotes joint mobility, relieves inflammation, and strengthens nerves and muscles. Gandha Prasārinī is also used externally in Abhyanga (oil massage) to enhance circulation and reduce pain in chronic conditions.

Medical Conditions(Relief):

Fenugreek helps with lactation and improves milk production in breastfeeding mothers. It can also aid in reducing menstrual pain and improving hormonal balance. Additionally, it supports digestive health and can help manage constipation.

Medical Conditions(Avoid):

Fenugreek should be avoided in individuals with allergies to legumes. Pregnant women should avoid large doses, as it can stimulate uterine contractions.
