Description:

Jatiphala, also known as Jaiphal (Myristica fragrans), is a small aromatic evergreen tree that can reach heights of 5 to 13 meters. The seed of the Jatiphala, which is egg-shaped, comes from the fruit of the Myristica fragrans tree. The leaves of the Jaiphal plant are smooth and dark green, featuring a glossy upper surface. Each leaf measures approximately 7.5 to 8.8 centimeters in length and is arranged alternately along the stem.

Benefits:

Jatiphala (Myristica fragrans), commonly known as nutmeg, is a warming and aromatic spice with carminative, sleep-inducing, and digestive benefits in Ayurveda. It pacifies Vata and Kapha doshas and is used in treating diarrhea, insomnia, and respiratory issues. In small doses, it enhances digestion, relieves bloating, and calms the mind. It is also used in pediatric care for colic and sleep support.

Jatiphala (Nutmeg) is used in Ayurveda for its ability to improve digestion, reduce pain, and alleviate stress. It is beneficial for sleep disorders, nausea, and can also act as an anti-inflammatory agent.

Jatiphala should be avoided by individuals with liver or kidney issues. It should also be avoided by pregnant women.
