Sanskrit Name:  Nimbu Ghaas

Devanagari Name: नींबू घास

English Name: Lemongrass

Description:

Lemongrass, referred to as Bhutrin in Ayurveda, is commonly utilized in the food sector as a flavor enhancer. It aids in regulating blood cholesterol levels by reducing harmful cholesterol and helps manage blood pressure thanks to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Consuming lemongrass tea (kadha) twice daily can promote weight loss by detoxifying the body and enhancing metabolism. When mixed with a carrier oil such as olive or coconut oil, lemongrass oil can alleviate pain and swelling due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Additionally, it can effectively combat dandruff when applied to the scalp because of its antifungal characteristics. To prevent irritation and allergic reactions, lemongrass oil should always be diluted with a carrier oil like almond, coconut, or olive oil.
