Description

Pineapple desserts are a delightful treat that many of us enjoy.  We find them especially appealing due to the fruit’s distinct and refreshingly healthy flavor. Known scientifically as Ananas comosus, pineapple is a member of the Bromeliaceae plant family.

Benefits – through the lens of Ayurveda

Pineapple is not mentioned in classical Ayurvedic texts such as the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, or Ashtanga Hridayam, because it is not indigenous to ancient India. It was introduced to the Indian subcontinent much later, likely by Portuguese traders in the 16th century.
