English Name: Elaeocarpus ganitrus

Description:

The Rudraksha plant, known for its spiritual significance, predominantly grows in the southwestern regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and various states including Assam, Bihar, Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Sikkim in India. A significant majority, approximately 70%, of Rudraksha trees are found in Indonesia, while 25% are located in Nepal and only 5% in India. This plant is listed in the Red Data Book (RDB) and is recognized as an endangered species, particularly in the northeastern part of India.

Benefits:

Rudraksha (Elaeocarpus ganitrus) is more spiritually than medicinally significant in Ayurveda. It is worn as a bead for mental peace, focus, and stress relief. Medicinally, it is sometimes used in decoctions for heart and nervous system support, pacifying Vata and Pitta.

Medical Conditions(Relief):

Rudraksha is used for its calming and stress-relieving properties. It is also used to improve heart health, reduce anxiety, and promote mental clarity.

Medical Conditions(Avoid):

Rudraksha should be avoided by pregnant women.
