Description:

Saptaparna (Alstonia scholaris), commonly referred to as the seven-leaved tree, is a tall evergreen species that can reach heights of up to 40 meters. This tree is characterized by its smooth, glabrous trunk and vibrant green leaves that exhibit a glossy finish on the upper surface, while the underside appears greyish. The leaves, measuring between 4 to 6 inches long and 1 to 2 cm wide, vary in size and grow in clusters known as visama-cchada and ayuk cchada. The bark of the Saptaparna tree is thick and brittle, displaying a white exterior and a yellowish interior. When the bark is cut, a milky sap is released. The seeds of this tree are white and are accompanied by cotton-like fibers at one end.

Saptaparna (Alstonia scholaris) is a powerful anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory herb in Ayurveda. It is commonly used to treat skin diseases, respiratory issues, and fever. It helps in detoxification and supports immune function by clearing Kapha and balancing Pitta.
