Description:

Shahi Jeera, also known as Bunium persicum, is a slender, erect herb with finely divided leaves and delicate white flowers that give rise to small, curved, dark brown seeds resembling caraway but with a milder, sweeter aroma. It is primarily cultivated in the cold, mountainous regions of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The seeds are harvested carefully due to the plant’s sensitivity to climate and slow growth. In Ayurveda, Shahi Jeera is valued for its ability to stimulate appetite, alleviate bloating, and expel intestinal gas. Its krimighna and deepana properties make it effective in managing parasitic infections and indigestion. It is also used to flavor traditional dishes and Ayurvedic decoctions.
